LACK OF PURPOSE CAN LITERALLY KILL YOU…

Humans, as with all living beings, are driven by a primal instinct to survive.
 
We also have an innate need to be connected, feel useful, valued and loved – these things make us feel safe and they also give us purpose.
 
Purpose gives us a reason to live.
 
Which creates a requirement to survive at a cellular level.
 
Some people are content to lead what some might describe as a simple life.
 
They live in a ‘smaller circle’ so are not concerned by the world existing beyond that circle or the values and beliefs within that circle.
 
And there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s your life, live it your way. No one has the right to judge, nobody!
 
If what you do makes you happy, you’re not being unethical or inhumane and you are content then cool.
 
But some people (many people who read or watch this for example) literally NEED more.
 
They have a drive, an urge, a fire and an in-quenching desire to not only exist and survive but to THRIVE.
 
“Survive and thrive” – most people have heard that before right.
 
In the same way that one person may be content to just survive another’s very survival will be put in jeopardy by not thriving.
 
Think of the 4 elements:
 
Earth
Fire
Water
Air
 
Fire must burn to survive.
 
If you smoulder it, it will die.
 
Those who are born of fire (metaphorically speaking, however, it is a biological trait) need to burn.
 
If you don’t let the fire breathe in someone they will become unwell.
 
There will be an inner sense of un-fulfilment, they loose their passion and purpose.
 
They are no longer thriving and so they loose their will to survive and pathologies start to creep in. Sickness and stress that manifests as physical and mental conditions set up camp and slowly but surely people die, from the inside-out.
 
Now i’m not just talking metaphorical here, i’m talking literal cell death and changes in brain.
 
Signalling and chemistry that changes our physical and mental state.
 
Have you noticed that although we, in the “developed countries” live in a world of abundance nowadays there has been a monumental rise in ‘slow death’ disease, mental health issues and people are possibly living longer but with vastly reduced quality of life?
 
I learned from Prof. A. Garoli that there is something called “the kill switch” a biochemical trigger that induces cell death – allowing mutated cells to thrive, slowing metabolism, slowing and impairing immune function and increasing inflammation.
 
The root causes of disease and death.
 
Scary shit.
 
Like literally, if you are not living in alignment with your true purpose, your true goals and desires, you are making yourself sick.
 
Now at this point a counter statement springs to mind….
 
High achievers are highly stressed and chronic stress causes sickness and higher risk of death from associated disease.
 
That is totally true, on some levels.
 
But.
 
Here’s where we have the GOLDILOCKS EFFECT.
 
TOO LITTLE = no drive to survive.
i.e. no purpose, no drive, no motivation, no reason to survive.
 
TOO MUCH = chronic stress.
i.e. fear, inflammation, insomnia, systemic failures, system shut down.
 
JUST RIGHT = balance.
i.e. purpose, passion, stress that excites and delights, optimum performance, rest and repair, surviving and thriving, happiness.
 
There is a way to create success and balance but it does not come from just one source.
 
To be truly successful, truly fulfilled and happy there must be alignment within several areas in your life:
 
PSYCOLOGICAL – the ability to sustain positive state of growth and enhance emotional intelligence.
 
This will improve not only your relationship with yourself but with others which creates effortless success.
 
PHYSICAL – the optimisation of physical performance in balance with you.
 
This will improve your ability to perform and sustain energy, mentally and physically.
 
NUTRITIONAL – the support your living world you call ‘you’ needs to thrive and keep you alive.
 
This will improve your systemic health, which keeps you ‘young’, improves cognition (keeps you sharp, improves memory and recall) – pretty important for business right!
 
BUSINESS – the tools and strategies to succeed, fulfil your purpose and to be useful/valuable/a contributor on a greater scale.
 
Businesses no matter their size are service providers (some more ethical than others) but none the less they create solutions where there is a need. They give, you remunerate them for their service.
 
LIFE SKILLS – how to combine the individual elements in to a state of positive, progressive yet balanced flow
 
Life skills are fluid and are the strings connecting the dots between our mental, physical, past, present and future worlds. Understanding and knowing how to tighten the bonds brings us successes on any and all levels.
 
We are all different, all individual but what keeps us most healthy and most happy is fulfilling our purpose – which is different for everyone.
 
The only real ‘wrong’ when talking about your true purpose, is not living it.
 
Sadly many of us have no idea what ours is.
 
So we float through life; pushing and retreating, pushing and retreating and never really getting anywhere.
 
The good news is that every time you push you grow and every time you have retreated you have learned a lesson.
 
The trick now is to discover the way to keep pushing, keep growing, keep contributing and keep succeeding.. by finding your motivator – find your why.
 
This is where you find your purpose and where the fire can burn inside you driving your success and ultimately bringing health and happiness to you in abundance.
 
Whether you are metaphorically born of air, water, earth or fire find your why, find your passion, find your purpose, start living it and success will ‘find’ you.

    Hello, you used to write wonderful, but the last few posts have been kinda boring… I miss your great writings. Past few posts are just a little out of track! come on!
